Default A chicken comes clean. Help please

I am a beginner cook and have never made a whole chicken before. They scare me! I'm determined to expand my list of meals so I bought one today. Now what do I do with it? I was hoping to cook it tomorrow in the crock pot. Anyone want to walk me through step by step cooking it in a crock pot? . TIA

Hopefully you got one that at least has the guts bagged up. That was my rookie mistake! The butcher at Whole Foods told me the kind I bought doesn't bag the guts and next time the butcher would clean it out for me, if I wanted (yes, please!!).
I roast mine. Never tried crock pot. I just unwrap the chicken, brush on a combo melted butter and olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper and roast. I usually surround it with veggies like carrots, onion and potatoes so they can all roast together.

It's easy, I promise! I'm squeamish with many meat dishes but this is seriously easy. Like pp said just make sure you remove the innards bag if it came with one. The package usually says either way.

    My family likes this recipe:

I never bother with tying the legs and it's always fine. The meat is so tender that it usually falls apart really easily.

You can also put the bones and veggies in the crock pot afterwards to make really easy homemade broth.

I don't do it often, but it really is easy, you can do it!

Here's the two recipes I use and enjoy, both for whole chickens in the crockpot.

Google Ina garten's (barefoot contessa) roast chicken recipe. Best chicken ever.

I also like to spatchcock my chicken (or cut it fully in half if easier for you) and grill it at 350 for one hour. Put some bbq sauce on in last 15 minutes; it's delicious!
