Default Do you ever freeze iced cupcakes?

I've frozen plain cupcakes before no problem, but what about iced cupcakes? I made too many for our party and would love to put them away for Christmas time. How did they thaw?

Yep, I have done it. I just put them in a tupperware and froze. I defrosted them in the refrigerator for 24+ hours prior to serving again (left them out at room temp for an hour or so to take the chill off, too). They turned out great! I was skeptical, but it worked out well. The frosting was fine -- held its shape and tasted good still. I've done it with various buttercream frostings and the popular "flour" frosting too.

I do it all the time so we have safe cupcakes for DS2 to take to birthday parties. I pull them out of the freezer the night before the party and thaw them on the counter.

We do it all the time. We will pull a few out an hour or so before needed to thaw for a treat.
