Default Crockpot mashed potatoes for thanksgiving?

I host Thanksgiving and was considering trying my mashed potatoes in the crockpot this year. I found a bunch of recipes online but haven't ever tried them this way before. I was hoping maybe it would make it easier to prep everything that day. Anyone do this? Results??

I think they get gummy and gross. Find something else to simplify. If you peel and cube the potatoes on Wed. and put in salted water in the fridge, they'll be ready to cook on Thursday.

I haven't cooked them in the crock pot but rather make them earlier in the day and then keep warm in the crock pot.

This is what I do. I have a recipe that you make the day before, then put in a casserole dish and warm up on the day. I use the crock pot to warm them up. There's so much butter, half-n-half and cream cheese, they are super yummy and the dish is scraped clean every year.
