If you could have any job what would you pick?

I am another used book store owner wannabe. On a small island in the Pacific Northwest or off the coast of Maine/ Nova Scotia/ Newfoundland.

My uncle does that. . Helps to have made $$$ in his career as this is his "retirement " gig.

I like that idea. I'd also like to have an artisanal cheese shop in the winery. And I would love to be invited to travel to the various farms to observe the production process and sample the cheeses.

More realistically, I'd like to be a part-time professor, teaching one class a semester with no administrative responsibilities. I'm doing that now, but I'd like to get paid way more than adjunct salary.

Sign me up. Winery and cheese shop owner. I tried after college to figure out a pathway to the winery. Never found it.

I would work at a zoo. Ideally I would work with the animals but in all honesty I would happily take an administrative position or a position in the education department. It will never happen but it would be soooo cool! DS1 says he wants to be a zookeeper so maybe one day I'll get to visit him behind the scenes!

One of DS's earliest speech therapists was married to a veterinarian whose specialty was swine. He traveled all over the world at the request of countries and communities who were having problems with their swine heards or were fighting off some virus or wanted to start raising pigs. She said he loved his job for taking him to unusual, remote areas where the people really appreciated his help and expertise. She said his job was incredibly fulfilling. If I could find a job like that- where I'm a specialist in an unusual way, am extremely appreciated for my expertise and get to travel and meet people as a result- that would be my dream. I've yet to figure that one out.

Book store owner in the town where we have a vacation place, author or successful screenwriter, or Supreme Court Justice. Or lower court judge. Love to be an artist of some sort but don't have that talent set.

I would own my own used book store. But I wouldn't have to put in the hours of a regular business owner. I'd just be able to get first dibs on books and sniff that old book store smell whenever I wanted.

I'd love to design purses.

Along the same line, I'd love to own a unique boutique shop carrying purses, jewelry, unique fashion accessories and decor in a quaint beach town... and actually make $ doing it, lol.

I'd love to work for a zoo/aquarium/museum/natural preserve as an educator. This is something I'd actually like to do as a volunteer when I retire. So, I think this is totally possible, just that it wouldn't be for $.

Along the same lines, I'd love to work in advocacy in something I feel passionate about. I just can't quite figure out how to go about doing this. I sort of already do this in the health field in my current career (but in a very dysfunctional organization, which I find frustrating), so it's not too crazy of a leap, but the key is that it needs to be something I feel passionately about.
