    Heck yes, especially from my mom or dad! I wouldn't worry about bedbugs or anything freaky being on the furniture from her. Use it and then pay it forward once you find something you like better.

    Yep, we had pretty much exactly the same scenario. Light tan leather couch was given to us by some friends. Came with a hideous flower blue area rug. I have loved that the kids and their friends can jump on it in the basement and I don't care. We plan to change it out at some point soon.

    but ours was a "beautiful" verigated blue striped couch from FIL. Shoes? Eh, life goes on. Jumping? Don't hit your head on the wall, and don't let the baby see it. Snacks? Only if the stain would be hidden on blue! It was probably the least anxiety-producing couch we ever had!

    Comfy, clean, leather, and you have a space where it will be heavily used and guests won't necessarily see it?
