Help from the iron experts please!

My ferritin finally came back low enough that my dr decided I need to supplement...Yay!! It was 10.3. Down about 6 points since last year. She told me to take one 65mg pill a day and that we'd retest in 3-6 months. Is that enough iron? I know I've read on here and elsewhere that ideal iron is 70-90, especially if you have hypothyroidism which I do. What is the best iron brand to take? I remember reading on here about a liquid version but can't remember what it was. Any other tips?

I take this liquid. 10 ml in the am before anything else. With 250mg of vitamin c. Wait 30 mins before eating or drinking anything. I mix with OJ but that's not what the doc said to do. My level is at a 6. Hth

Yeah, 10.3 and even 6 points higher than that is extremely low. Mine was 8 before and my goal is to get in the ideal range of 70-90. I take prescription Ferrex 150 Plus. It contains vitamin C to help absorption. It's 150mg and I take it 3 times a day now, so 450mg total a day. My ferritin did get up to 69 at one point, but quickly fell back down to 40 after running out of my prescription for a month. It was 46 at my last blood test 2.5 months ago. I get retested every 3 months so I'm curious what my number will be in May since the doctor upped my dose from twice a day to three times.
