DD just pierced her own ears!! What follow up care so she doesn't get an infection?

So, just buy saline like for contact lenses (not a cleaning solution but saline)? I don't have regular salt as we use iodized sea salt, so I probably have to buy something anyway.

The is sterile saline solution for cleansing wounds in the first aid section of the store. It is slightly pressurized - in a metal bottle instead of plastic bottle like contacts. Target even makes its own brand. That is what we use and were told to use. Also great for cleaning skinned knees etc.

I pierced my own ear (cartilidge) over the course of a few class periods at school. I just kept pushing the sharp earring further and further inside until it was through. It actually was my healthiest earring hole (I had 6) and I never cleaned or did infection prevention...

I did! Never got infected. Wore my hair down for weeks to hide it from my mother!

I did my nose myself , over the course of a week. It was a pain free piercing compared to my sister's which took a whole month to heal (done at a salon).

My mom noticed the holes within a few weeks, but when I was 19 I got a tattoo and I successfully hid that from my mother for twenty years!
