I"m tired of DD2 counting on her fingers. There are a ton of math facts apps out there, but some are quite expensive so I figured I'd see if there are any you all would recommend. Looking for addition and subtraction right now.

My kids enjoyed Math Bingo. Can't remember if it was free or not.

This is an interesting article about finger counting. It's worth a read!
I forgot to say, my kids used Sum Dog and loved it. It's got fun games to learn math facts and they played individually and with other kids in their class.

That is interesting, thanks! I should have been clearer: in addition to occasional finger-counting, I'd like DD1 to start memorizing her math facts. Right now, every single time she comes across, say, 6-5, she either uses her fingers or counts backwards to get the answer. That's ok in some contexts, but not always. I'd like to help her have some of these math facts in her memory bank so that she doesn't have to do the work each and every time. :-)

I second the rec. for sum dog. My Ds had a terrible, horrible time memorizing math facts and sum dog really worked for him where other apps (and Kumon workbooks, flash cards, working together, etc.) all failed.
Ds1 (2006). Ds2 (2010). Ds3 (2012).
My kids love xtra math. I'm actually not sure why, but they love to compete with each other. It's very effective.
loving my dh and our littles (dd ~ 11 yrs, ds ~ 9 yrs, ds ~ 7 yrs, dd ~ 5 yrs and baby brother ~ 20 mo)
