Wide cropped summery pants

I don't do shorts, though I like skirts and skorts for the summer months.

I would like to try something like this

it should be light and summery, maybe chambray, available in petites, and not $118! I can't bring myself to pay that much for a pair of cropped pants 😬

Any ideas? I have searched in two malls, one regular and one outlet, and online, with no luck! How could Anthropologie be the only source??

I have two pairs of wide-cropped linen-cotton pants from Patagonia that are like the second of your two options. I bought them on Zappos last year - they're a little less stylish, a little more functional than the Anthro version. I have one pair in a denim color way and the other is dark tan.

ETA they were called Island Hemp capris and it looks like they only sell the full length version this year. They may still be available on sites like 6pm and Sierra Trading Post. Order one size up.

These might be a little heavier weight than you are looking for, but seem a little less "mumsy" than most of the other culottes I've come across...and they're on sale.
