Default Where to go this summer...

This is so open ended, which is ridiculous, but I need ideas! We are a family of five traveling from the Southern California. Kids will be 8,6, and 3. Budget is open, willing to spend money for a great vacation. Want to limit flying time to 6 hours or so (willing to go to the Caribbean).

Where should we go? We did Hawaii last summer so I think we will wait to do that again until next summer.

Hit me up with your best ideas!

Grand Cayman. We went in December with our family of 5 (10, 7, and 3) and everyone had a blast. We've also been to Turks and Caicos and Punta Cana.

We seem to be on a Central America kick. This year we are going to Costa Rica for Spring Break and last year we did Belize/Guatamala. We tend to like more adventure than resort vacations but those places lend themselves to both. Of course there is always Disney or a Disney cruise.

Last summer we spent a week at a family camp during a trip to California. My kids LOVED it and are begging to go back. Good old fashioned fun but not really luxurious! (We stayed in a lodge, with a normal bathroom, electricity etc but there were rustic cabins).

Can you tell me about the family camp? Also, would love to hear about your Costa Rica plans.

I would love to take my parents on an Alaskan cruise but won't do that if they can't make if.

I love all of the Caribbean. I have been to most of the islands as a kid as I grew up on the east coast. It just feels so far from California!

I vote for Yellowstone and the Tetons if you haven't done those parks--truly gorgeous!

My parents are down with a cruise so I think that is what we will do. Don't want to do Disney as its so much more expensive and I think my dad will want a casino . If anyone has any input on cruises to Alaska let me know!
