Default Help dress me for a night out please

We're heading to the city for dinner and a show with friends. I always feel so frumpy. I would love suggestions on what to wear. Links would be much appreciated!!! TIA

A great blouse and some ankle skimming pants would work too.

I love that second one but it's sold out in my size. I'm short and have a belly.

A swing dress would be good to hide your belly. Check old navy and Loft. Sorry. It's hard to do links on the iPad.

I like the AT dress the best.

I found this yesterday but didn't share. http://m.shop.nordstrom.com/s/a-l-c-...D1500987726491

I think a cute dress and some wedges are the way to go, capris or ankle pants and a top are easily turned frumpy, which you said you're trying to avoid. Also as a fellow shortie I think dresses are much easier to wear. I'd check out shorter dresses vs maxi ones if you're short , show some leg! Lots of great sales on dresses right now, check out the Jr. Dept of stores like Kohls, Macy's, Nordstrom etc, for a fun dress you can find something under 50.00, get a trendy necklace or bracelet and heels and you're set.

Definitely a dress if you're going to a show. I liked the off the shoulder black fit and flare shorter one. Easy to add fun accessories to. Some of these were too fussy. Don't be afraid to wear a plunging neckline etc, I do find the dresses at the loft and Ann Taylor way to conservative.

I've decided on this dress. Of course I just realized that I don't have shoes to wear with it. I found these at the Rack today. Are they too clunky for the dress? I'm hoping to get to dsw tomorrow but I'll have DC in tow. DH is away so can't sneak out at night to look.

I found these as well but I'm not sure I'll be able to walk as far as I need to in these. They were $30 so I'll keep them for another time.

    I've been eyeing that dress!
In a pinch, those shoes will do. They seem a little fancy for the occasion.
