Default Wedding in Oregon mid September

What to wear to a wedding on Oregon coast in mid September? Invite says dress is casual and prepare for cooler weather as its late afternoon evening. Reception is at a gastronomic pub.

I have a dark red lace dress I wear to DH's Christmas party in Vegas, but that reads too dressy to me, and it may not fit.

It says casual, can I get away with black cropped pants, heels, and a dressy blouse? I'll need to get a blouse, but I'll prefer that over getting a dress. And I'll be warmer in pants + blouse and take a jacket.

    Suggestions with links please

If you don't already own a wrap dress- a wardrobe staple, imo- get one. It'll do the job. I wouldn't wear pants. Could you? I guess. I still wouldn't.

I bet there a lot of people in jeans even!!! I'd go with pants, my understanding is that the PNW is very casual, even for a wedding!

I grew up in the PNW. Casual really truly means casual. You could probably skip the heels even, if you wanted to. My dad wears Birkenstocks to the opera and doesn't look at all out of place.

Your outfit sounds fine as long as you take a jacket and maybe a pair of boots if it ends up being colder that you think.
