I am being invaded!

Okay, so her home is safe and intact. She has no power and b/c of that and lack of food in her pantries and the water/ sewer situation, downed trees in the road it is not safe for her to return at this time.

She painted this weekend, with a lot of help from me. Unfortunately, we don't live in a place where uber is really an option. We are pretty small and rural.

She had a very nice dinner waiting when we got home today. It was quite nice. We picked all the groceries she would want to make stuff with for the week and I ordered groceries for pick up on Sunday morning. It worked super well.

I assume she will be here at least till mid next week. We are away this weekend, and unfortunately, the hotel we are at has no empty rooms and there are no other hotels within 20 miles. She is a little disappointed, but understands and will stay at the house. I feel kind of bad. It must be really hard, all the stress leading up to it and now not being able to go back.

i was wondering how it was going. Sounds ok so far--except for the texting!! Going away for the weekend will be a good break for everybody. Just go with it! Glad everything is ok for her.

Her power came back on!!!! She is heading out tomorrow morning.

I am actually really sad to see her go, this was one of the best trips we have had in years! In the end it was good for all of us.

Thank your lucky stars and cherish it. Sometimes they can pull it together. My only issue is then that I hope for the same behavior the next time--just don't get your hopes up too much for next time. Just cherish this time. I am really happy for you that it worked out so well.
