I personally can not imagine wearing underwear with Spanx. It seems so uncomfortable and that they would loose the smoothing feature. I grew up going to lots of dance classes and we were told not to wear underwear with our tights so maybe I’m just used to it.

Basically anything that has a cotton crotch area are not meant to have underwear worn with them.

Spanx makes tights! I have some that I wear w/o underwear.

I wear everything with underwear except swimsuits. Of the things you listed, I'd be most likely to go without while wearing Spanx.

I especially wear them under yoga/workout pants. I've seen way too much over the years at gyms to trust stretchy pants to cover my privates. I wear Soma vanishing edge under everything. Never for any of them--it's too binding and awkward.
ETA: in the winter I live in Commando's no bind tights. They're fabulous and feel like leggings.

Yes to all three, a thong only. I do sometimes go commando at the gym, but that is it. I love these Spanx shorts; I wish I could find a waist cincher that was comfortable, but they end up rolling down and are just too uncomfortable by the end of the night, and honestly now I am so used to wearing a pair of spanx shorts under dresses that I feel naked without them.

Spanx is a form of underwear. They go on like super underwear and under tights. Never would have even considered wearing over tights, they are under. Though think they make tights and lots of tights do have a control top feature.

This is what I do but the spanx legs always roll up when I put my tights over them so I wondered if it was user error.

I wear underwear under all of them. I don't wear leggings often, though, because I'm self-conscious about my legs.

I could probably skip them under Spanx, but I have a lot of self-consciousness issues that make it hard for me to skip underwear.

Maybe different kinds of spanx? I haven't had that issue but I don't wear them with tights much since tights generally are pretty control top fit and just regular underwear.
