Default Suspenders to turn regular snow pants into bibs?

I always buy DD black snowpants and then pass them on to DS the following year or 2. DD had a pair of size 10 Lands End snow pants. I tried them on DS lasts night and they are great for the length, but DS is very slim and they are pretty loose in the waist. Where can I get a pair of suspenders or something to hold up these snow pants? He would prefer bibs but I am not going to buy brand new snow pants when these ones are in great shape.

suspenders are not cheap IMO. For the limited use I might encourage him to wear bulky jeans under the snowpants or get an extra large safety pin and reduce the waist with the safety pin.

    ETA suspenders

Lands end is doing 50% off and that makes bibs about $25-$30.

Or target has bibs at $20

Personally I'd make the current ones work as is

You can try a Salvation Army for suspenders too. I see them there fairly often.

Do the pants have belt loops? If so, you could use a zip tie between 2 loops to pull the waist smaller.

Well I guess the suspenders seem reasonable to me considering that a new pair of bibs on Lands end would be $35 with the 50% off.

Would these work to cinch them in? We used these all the time with our DC.

There are no beltloops on these snow pants! Argh!

May not be what you're looking for, but my kids ski and play in the snow in Target bibs all winter in Colorado. We layer with better quality long underwear when it's really cold, but new bibs might be cheaper if you're willing to do Target. I find that once my DS hit size 10-12, we had issues passing on the girl pants (even in black). He always has needed a slimmer cut than his older sister

There are some really cheap options online at Walmart. ex. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Swiss-Tec...w-Bib/55568185

Also, keep an eye on the target ones in case they may have another clothing deal between now and Christmas.

I'd just take them in at the waist, or take them to a tailor if I didn't feel comfortable doing it myself.
