    Default Baby toy recs!

What are your favorite development toys for babies 6 months - 1 year? I have a few things for DS2 but Im realizing that they are all battery-operated lights and and sounds type of toys. They aren't super interactive other than pushing a button and watching the lights flash! I need some ideas!
Right now he loves anything that can fit in his mouth. He is BY FAR our mouthiest baby!

I love Fat Brain Toys. I bought these for YDS for his first Christmas in 2015. He still plays with them:

A few of our favorites for that age range...

    https://www.amazon.com/Wonderworld-R...musical+blocks

    Stacking cups

My DD2 also loved our Cozy Coupe in that age range (not at 6 months, but by 8 months or so). She loved to just sit inside it and play with the steering wheel, and it was her favorite, favorite "push toy" -- she'd stand on the back and try to push it. Often DD1 would get in and drive it with her "walking" behind it. It's not really a toy I'd think for a kid so young, but if you see yourself wanting to get one when he's older, it might be something you want to get early so he can grow with it (it's still a fav toy!)

Check out some of the Melissa and Doug Spill and Fill (Fill and Spill?) toys too -- there are tons and some are better than others, but some have toys inside w/ lots of different textures/feels -- my mouthy babies always liked gnawing on all of those and they're easy to wash so it was no big deal.

Yay thanks everyone! He doesn't exactly *need* more toys but I'd like to at least have 2 gifts for him, plus my mom wants ideas so this is awesome!

I looked at that shapes cube on Amazon last week and I LOVE how all the pieces are connected and can't get lost! Some of the reviews though said they were really hard to fit in their spaces-what do you think?

I hadn't thought of this before but I can see what reviewers are saying. It is definitely not as easy as a shape puzzle or a shape sorter but DS couldn't do either of those when he first got this toy. He can line the shapes up but for some of the shapes (like that 8-shape) it takes him a bit longer He doesn't get frustrated with it though and I definitely wouldn't character him as a patient toddler
