Default Resole Birkenstocks or just buy a new pair?

I have a pair of Granada birkoflor in a steel blue color that has been discontinued and I need to have at least the soles replaced as they are worn at the heel. Also since the top material is Birkoflor I am not sure how much longer they might last (although they are good shape imho). Birkenstock no longer makes this color so resoling is really my only option. They make the traditional Arizona style in dark metallic, rose gold, silver, and gold, but I do like the feminine styling of Granada. They also make the Gizeh and some of the three strap styles in those colors, but Gizeh looks awful on my wide foot and I can’t wear the three strap styles due to my high instep.

Also does anyone have the soft footbed?

resole. I like to try and keep things going, especially if I like them. I had a pair of $20 Banana Republic flip flops fixed at the shoe repair because I loved them.

Thanks! It is going to be $75 to have the cork and the sole redone, which is about what I originally paid for them. There is a store in Pasadena that does it so I could always take them up there and see what they think.

Less than a new pair would cost.

I agree; if you really love them, it’s probably worth it to have them re-soled. I never would have thought of that as an option!

As an aside—as someone with wide feet, I am taking notes. I bought a pair of the traditional style in glitter white, and though I wear them, I really really should have gone with one of the wide-width colors. I’m glad to know that there are other options, even if they don’t sparkle.

The day I knew I had truly wide feet was when I had to buy wide Birkenstocks when I was 18.

Some of the metallic Arizona ones do come in regular width.

I would love to have my fave Birkenstock style (Mayari) in that metallic steel blue colour, so I'm definitely voting for you to resole your Granadas!

I buy silver Mayari Birkenstocks usually and I just buy a new pair every summer about. I wouldnt have even thought to resole them. I like the feeling of having a new pair. The footbed is too worn down on my old ones. I wear them just about every day from May 15-mid September.

I just buy new ones each year or two and rotate through a couple colors of mayaris.
A coworker had a pair of Madden Girl knockoffs. Made me wonder if they have them in blue!

I can’t wear Mayari due to a high instep.

Reviews state that these (Birkenstock Salina) run wide so if I was tempted to try them, but again the strap with a high instep might be an issue.

I got my old ones resoled and will post a pic when I get home.....they look like new!
