I’ve heard the lodging options are often non traditional, which is fine by us.

We have been with kids. Easiest county to travel with children. Every store/ restaurant/ hotel has toys and understands american kids are more picky. We stayed in all B and B's, amazing trip. Kids loved every second of it.

Hugely popular here and feel like everyone we know has gone and their kids all love it. Short layover for my daughter and we will also go at some point. Have fun!

I would go if you can swing it as your kids are good ages for it! I posted about it last year or earlier this year considering for our family. But we decided to table it until youngest is 7 at least. DS2 still takes naps some days as a near 5 year old, so I know this kind of trip would absolutely wipe him out if we went anytime soon.

Thanks for everyone’s input. We just bought airline tickets. They were cheap through Iceland Air, and I was worried the price would go up.

Late June! (We like to plan ahead.) We were considering a Norwegian fjords cruise, but when I saw the prices to Iceland, I started looking into it and it seemed like an interesting option. I think the time difference will only be 4 hours from the Midwest. So less jet lag than Europe. And it will be light all day, so we can sightsee until late.
