    Default Lake Placid

We're headed to Lake Placid over the new year. We're doing the Olympic Passport stuff and bobsledding. Has anyone been there in the winter? We don't really ski, but we do snowshoe and plan to bring them (assuming there's snow - not much here in MI yet).

We used to go there every year between Christmas and New Years. The town itself is so cute, we'd downhill ski/x country as well. The Olympic stuff is cool. The figure skating club used to do an ice show around that time too. There should be snow.

Thanks - we just got back and had a great time. Our Airbnb was meh - overall nice but badly in need of a deep clean and had an undisclosed cat (not there, but there was fur and DH is allergic). It was our first meh Airbnb experience after 20+ stays so I suppose we were due.

We booked the Olympic Passport and did the ski jump tour, the Olympic Museum, saw the 1980 hockey arena where the Olympic win vs. USSR happened (Miracle on Ice movie), and rode the gondola up Whiteface. There wasn't enough snow for sledding, snowshoeing or any of the beginner ski hills, but we did a great hike near Whiteface and explored both Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. It was a great place for a few days in the winter and we'd definitely go back.
