I've been called a few times, served on Grand Jury for a month in my county. I enjoyed it. It also helped that I had a union job at the time and they paid me for my full day of work for each day I was serving and most days I was out before lunch. I was called for Federal court once and DD was only 3 months old. They told me I couldn't bring my cell phone with me but I was scared to not have it since I would have to take mass transit into NYC while leaving her with someone. In the end I called my local jury commissioner and she called me for the grand jury that was going to be called in a few days and then when I arrived she dismissed me for childcare of an infant. That got me out of federal for a few years.

I would like to serve on a jury, and I really would have liked to in my pre-kid days when I was working at a law firm and we got paid time off for jury duty. I have been registered to vote since I turned 18. The only time I have ever received a summons was from CT after we moved to MI. DH got one from CT a couple of weeks later - he had never received a summons before.

The one time I was called was when I was a 19 year old college student out of state. My sister, my mom and I are all lawyers and we'd all love to be a jury and none of us have been called. DH was on a jury once and has been called multiple times.

    Nope.

I’ve been called several times, but only once earlier this year I actually had to appear. After a couple hours waiting there with everyone else I was dismissed when my name wasn’t called. Was so relieved

Nope. Got called once by my home county when I was in college, and was able to get a deferment since I was living 2 hours away from my permanent address. The next time I got called by a county I don't live in, and hadn't for ~ 3 years, so I was able to get that cancelled. (Why they would send a summons to an address in a different county, I have never understood.)

I've been called once in my life, and I was actually pretty excited to serve. But I had a high number and didn't even need to show up.

No, but it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I’ve been called twice, but my number was so high, I didn’t even have to show up.
