Dressy warm layer

Going to a party - black jeans, black draped shirt, black suede ankle boots - but I need a warm layer on top that will fit under my wool coat. All the cardigans/ sweaters I have make the outfit more casual. This is a whole in my wardrobe I need to fill.

Any suggestions?

I have a short black wrap cardigan that i wear over a lot of tees, with jeans, and boots, as well as a duster length in a gorgeous mustard, that I love. I just throw on a long necklace to dress it up a little, if needed.
