    Thanks everyone for all of the input. So, I think I'll stock up on moleskin, body glide and bandaids, and buy some anti-blister socks. Never occurred to me that socks might be part of the problem. I'm still looking for the right shoe, but you all have given me some great leads! Thank you!

    Totally late to this party, but last summer I lived in my rubber Birkenstock Arizona sandals. Mine are a platinum grey which was an exclusive Nordstrom style. I plan to get another pair this summer. I usually get blisters on the balls of my feet if I wear Birks all day (I also have Grenada style) and I didn’t have an issue with the rubber ones.

    For flip flops I love Crocs Athens.

    I have a high instep so Fit Flops didn’t work.
