    Default Jar opener?

I don’t have enough strength in my hands to open jars. DH used to do all the cooking so I never worried about it but now that I’m cooking more I would like to find something to help me. I prefer a tool rather than an appliance. Anyone have a fave? TIA

I have one like this and it’s perfect. I don’t know why they don’t make them anymore.

I love my swing-a-way jar opener. It also is really helpful in loosening stubborn Prosecco/Champagne corks.

I have a set of silicon grips that I use on brand new jars (or ones DH has closed too tight with his big hands!) My hands are so small that I have a hard time getting a good grip on lids, so they help. But sometimes I still need DH to open things for me.

This is what I have. I don't really use the small cup shaped one, but the two flat ones get used frequently.

I use the small cup one almost daily for my sodastream bottles! The other ones are great too.

I love this one that is mounted under my upper cabinets... as do the kids!

I’ve had one of these forEVER! It’s ok for smaller jars but can be awkward for a rather wide jar top. (I’ve never tried it on corks!)

Not the same brand, but same concept:

My parents had that swing-away one! Or one very similar. Worked like a charm. DH gave me a jar popper as a stocking stuffer, which worked great and better than using a bottle opener (which didn't seem to work on all jar shapes.) It worked great but after years (probably more than a decade) it wore down and doesn't work any more.
