That dress is lovely and perfect for the occasion! ITA with the denim jacket recommendation with it, or a light colored suede moto if you have one. I love my denim jacket- I actually got it at Target several years ago! Nobody will know if your denim jacket is a fancy brand or not, so just find one you like.

I like that dress! Super cute. Any type of denim jacket would go with that. It is almost spring so honestly the fact that the dress looks summery doesn’t bother me at all.

I think slacks with a colorful top are fine. I personally like dresses so I would wear a dress. I think the dress you posted is fine, not "wow, perfect" but totally cute and fine. Old Navy is the king of jeans jackets. But they're everywhere. Just find one that you like.

I live in the south as well and I always wear a dress to showers. If I am hosting, I wear a dress that coordinates with the shower colors (but I make sure that I don’t match the honoree). I think a cardigan and skirt would also be nice but I wouldn’t wear pants.
