    I would also have a conversation about how some kids needed a little extra motivation to work on it and that the teacher is trying to help those kids be as successful as your DD. She may not be old enough for that lesson yet but it's really all you can do. It was a totally unfair situation, and I feel bad for kids like your DD who had already finished and also for kids who may not have been able to work on it over the break through no fault of their own. They missed out too.
    Ok, I like this a lot more than my idea!

    Am I the only one thinking not all kids like pudding?

    OK, seriously, it’s crappy thing. I think whether or not I said anything/asked for clarification would be if this kind of thing happened before or not. I know in 4th grade we had a lot of issues with the teacher, but people thought she was just wonderful and I just decided to grin and bear it because I didn’t think it would be productive. It’s your call.
