Default How many shoes do you have?

I’ve been updating my wardrobe including my shoes. I think I’m trying to find the elusive shoe for all day chase after eloping toddler walk 12,000 steps but then wear out to dinner and look dressy. Maybe I need work shoes and dressy shoes with a heel !

So how many shoes do you have? Just a range is fine

I’ve never counted them but I have an oversized walk in closet with one side being just shoes. I LOVE buying shoes. If I had to guess I would say I probably wear 10 of them regularly. I mostly wear my moto boots in the winter and sneakers / sandals in the summer.

    Umm, I think 4

    Casual sandals
    Casual sneakers
Fancy (and I use that term very loosely) sandals
    Gym sneakers

I have around 20, a big cross section from hiking boots, running shoes, fashion sneakers, work shoes, casual dressy, sandals, dressy boots, casual boots, rain boots, winter boots.... Ok, maybe more like 30 but I really do wear them all, and if I don't, they get rotated out.

I should note that I work part time, so I feel like I need a wardrobe for both work and stay at home!

I could be undercounting but that sounds right to me too.

I'm going to guess 50. I thought 30 sounded right, but I counted what is in my closet now and there's more than 30, including a lot of boots. I haven't even brought summer sandals down yet. I aggressively declutter so I wear absolutely all of them except for about three that I'll get rid of soon.

[ETA: OP, you're in CA with a lot less weather shift. I could see owning less then, but I still don't believe in a shoe that can do it all.

Oh gosh, I've never thought about it, and I think it's embarassingly high. Maybe 40? I also have summer and winter, work and not work.
This has made me want to estimate:

casual or work leather/suede boots (short and tall): 9 (wear them all!)
hiking boots, low and high: 2
    rain boots: 1
sandals (including birks and water shoes: maybe 8? But haven't taken them out yet this year.
    flip flops: maybe 4?
sneakers: 5 - one for gym, one for walking, one for yard work/mowing, and 2 pairs that are leather and more fun (they both are so comfy and I've had for 20 years, I can't get rid, and I wear them to chilly spring baseball games...)
    winter boots: 3?
    flats: 1
    clogs/mary janes: 4
    heels: 2

Yeah, I could be under counting too. Thinking now about things like rain boots, snow boots, flip flops, tennis shoes, shoes and boots for work, etc. I probably do have more. And I probably have several I never wear anymore and should get rid of.

I have about 5 pairs of Fit-Flops alone!

I don't think there's a magic one pair that does everything.
