    Default Reef Safe Sunscreen

We are vacationing in Xcaret Mexico this year and need to use reef safe sunblock for the eco park. Does anyone have a favorite that will work decently in and out of the water?

I have been very happy with the Alba sunscreen, both cream and spray. I buy it at Costco.

I got Badger when I was going to a place that required biodegradable sunscreen.

Blue Lizard seems to be popular and effective, and I know it's reef safe. But it's also notorious for leaving a whitish tint.

    Default Reef Safe Sunscreen

We use the thinksport sunscreen for the places that require reef safe when we’re in the Caribbean. Myself and ds2 are fair and burn easily but this really worked for all of us.
We’ve seen it as one of the options offered for sale at the eco parks for those who didn’t bring reef safe.

I just looked at my Alba Botanica sunscreen and it is labeled reef friendly.

Yes, it is labeled reef safe, brought them with us to Turks and Caicos (not required, but preferred at the resort!)

Hands down ThinkSport - bonus that it has rated a "1" for years. Alba rates a "4".

Here's a good article about this topic, it tells you which chemicals to avoid and why. They recommend Thinksport as effective and less expensive.

For our Hawaii trip last summer, we used Raw Elements, don't recommend, it had a weird smell and none of us liked it.
