Default I Am Too Old for the Prom

I was one of the teachers invited to the prom last night.
It was too cold in the venue (I was wearing 3/4 sleeves!). The music was so loud I could feel myself internally vibrating. I only recognized two of the songs the DJ played. I had no idea what the kids were doing on the dance floor, but it certainly didn’t look like dancing to me. I had to shout to speak to my friends and could barely hear their responses. Driving home in the dark on poorly lit highways at 11:00 sucked with my astigmatisms.
I am too old for the prom.
    That is all.

If I've never seen a dance before I just assume it came from Fortnite!

I dropped off DS and his date at a dance this winter. some of the girls were wearing what looked like Spanx girdle things (that tight, that short, spaghetti straps) only floral. It was butt cold and they were all outside taking pictures.

And for the eyesight--my doctor told me it was fine, I don't need glasses for driving at night. I'm just over 50 and have dry eye. So every time I drive at night I have to put in eye drops so the lights don't look all blurry.

I've chaperoned middle school dances and vowed never to do so again. It was a nightmare - dark, loud, disorienting. I can only imagine prom is worse!
