    Thanks everyone for the feedback. I emailed the attorney and he actually replied already. He said that lifetime bans on re-employment are questionable at best and suggested I apply for job. He said if I get rejected to let him know and we can talk about next steps. So I guess I will apply and see what happens. I do still know people there so will probably have someone reach out to the hiring manager. I will be honest as to what happened previously but can not say that I received a settlement.

    Read the settlement agreement too. Most don’t say you can’t say you had a settlement but confidentiality on the amount and since the company is the party to the agreement, telling them shouldn’t violate it. They are a party as an entity, not the specific person working there. Hope it works out. Interesting dilemma.
