I have read through the previous thread but I have a very girly 5th grader and she's not digging the backpacks I've seen recommended so far. What are your girls carrying?She's going into 5th grade.

Both of my DDs have Jansport backpacks. There are tons of solid colours and/or girly patterns to pick from, and they last forever.

My DD got a navy floral Jansport Big Student backpack. We got it at tjmaxx, they also had a lot of other girly styles, they had them in two places, right at the entrance where they do seasonal displays and more further back along a wall with all kinds of backpacks.
