    I would have them pick out some boots, I would go with more fashionable ones, like booties, they don't need them to be warm or waterproof. You will be dashing into cabs etc if it's really wet and rainy.

    Thanks all. I got my new Blondo booties from Amazon (on sale for $80!) and they're cute and waterproof. Yay! They are so much less clunky than my knee high Hunter rain boots.

    Glad you’re starting to find some things. You've gotten some good suggestions that should be useful without being overkill. Some of the early posts by you and others sounded more like the packing list for my DGD1's school trip to Quebec in January!! (For that, she truly did need long underwear and numerous layers!!)
