Sudden neck pain in DS

DS is very active but late this morning, hours after he woke up, he complained that he couldn’t turn his head and his neck hurt on the right side. He said nothing happened, but we’ve had a summer of lying, so it may have and he just won’t say even though he is adamant nothing happened. He was playing outside with other kids.
There is a bump on his right neck and it hurts when I try to massage it. I gave him ibuprofen and he’s been icing it. Anything else I can do? When should I call the dr? Go to chiropractor?
No fever, has appetite, wants to try to play.

Sounds like a pulled muscle. I might wait a day and see if it clears up and then take him for massage or chiro.

The lump makes me think it could be a swollen gland. Has he been sick, or maybe he is coming down with something??
