    Default Rude request

I’ve been friends with someone for about 12 years since our oldest met in kindergarten. She’s a happy go lucky party person who needs to constantly be having chaos and a good time. The loudest person in thr room type. We both have youngers who are also the same age. Her children have always been rude and difficult and lacking in basic manners so our children no longer hang out other than in situations where they are on a team together. She lives nearby so we carpool regularly bc it just makes sense.
She texted me saying she’s “in trouble” which would allude to dealing with an emergency situation, right? Turns out she planned a play date with 2 girls who are on both our younger kids team tomorrow for right after their practice (my daughter is on the team too). She just realized her older has a scrimmage a 1/2 hour afterwards. So...she asked if I could pick up our kids (which is fine except that she knows I work) and then Also pick up the other 2 Girls and drive them to her house for a “hangout”. What?? She didn’t even ask my kid to be included even though they are all together o the same team and would all be in the car together as per our carpool situation. Not that my daughter would go, because, again, her kid is rude. I asked her to clarify and she explained I would need to pick up all 4 kids and drop 3 off to her house. WTF?? She’s always lacked tact but I can’t imagine in what world this would be considered NOT rude. Not to mention this is not an emergency situation at all. Just go late to your other kids game or cancel the play date YOU planned! Don’t make it my problem.

I can’t even. How incredibly rude. I’d come up with some sort of excuse.

I would say, "unbelievable" but I swear I read a very similar post here in the past few years! The word "no" was invented for these situations.

Absolutely not, and I’d tried to avoid car pooling with this family in the future.

Sorry but that is just wrong. I would plan an errand for after practice.
