Wedding Shower Question

I’m at a new school this year, and we are only two weeks in, so I don’t know my coworkers very well. The rest of the staff has been there for years, so they are pretty close knit. The staff is throwing a wedding shower for a male teacher and his fiancé this week. I looked over their registry, and there isn’t much left that is in my budget. Would it be okay to get a gift card to the store that they are registered at or is that too tacky??
