I was cleaning out my pantry and found a half full bag of shelled pistachios with an expiration of July 2018. I know nuts can go rancid quickly and I haven't tried them yet, but what do you all think--keep or toss?

Smell them. Rancid nuts are obvious. FWIW, I keep nuts in the freezer to preserve.
