Fires again!!

Please keep us in your prayers. The hills near me (VERY close to my SiL) are on fire. Only 50 acres burned at this point but the wind is insane. This time everyone has been SOOOO careful. We have no power now as a precaution. We still have a fire raging over my favorite trails. 😭

The fire that has affected our area is mostly staying to the wild places. It is sad but less disruptive to the people that love here. The fire in Sylmar is raging and we have major freeway crossings and damage! I do worry about some of our other BBB members who live in that direction and my prayers are with them!!

Yes. The local district is letting everyone out at half day for wind. (My kids are at an independent charter). Maybe it’s driving the teachers crazy? (Kids don’t get to go outside for any of the recesses, lunch or PE!) This area is killing me because we don’t do snow days obviously but some of the local schools annually have to dismiss for “heat days” (it’s too hot and they don’t have air conditioning) and now apparently “wind days”.

School is canceled for my DS2's school in North Hills. Too many teachers and staff couldn't make it in due to evacuations and road closures and the air quality is pretty bad. Blues skies and very little smoke here in Sherman Oaks so far, but I can see the smoke cloud in the distance.
