I'm planning for a quick trip to Chicago and I'll be riding the El from O'Hare to Downtown. And back for my return flight.

Should I buy a Ventra card at O' Hare? If so, should I load it with $5 (for ride out of O' Hare) and $2.50 for ride back (assuming ride into O'Hare is the standard fare not $5).

Is the app easier to use and will it save me time at O'Hare etc? The only con I can think of is that I'll literally use it only two times.

Or should I get a Ticket? I'll be returning from Monroe station and I wasn't sure if I could buy a ticket conveniently there.

I’m not aware that the app can be used on the L yet. Get a Ventra card with cash (10). At O’Hare, give it to a homeless person.
