Default Keep or toss- crockpot of raviolis

Ugh, I hate that I’m so busy right now and little things things slip through the cracks. Late yesterday afternoon, I precooked ground beef and mixed it with Classico tomato sauce. Then layered it with packaged ravioli in the crock pot with shredded mozzarella. I then cooked it on low for 4 hours. I took it out of the crockpot to cool and forgot it there. Dh found it on the counter 8hours later.

Please tell me it’s probably fine! I don’t have time to remake something.

If it was 85 degrees in your house overnight I would probably toss, but seeing as it is cold where you live I am sure it is fine.

I’m always a keep (hate food waste!) but this is a toss.

Definitely a toss, even if kitchen is cool-ish.

I’d toss. Meat sat out for 8 hours

I'm usually a keep but this I would toss! And my house is kept at 50deg at night which isnt that much warmer than a fridge......

I will say that my mother ROUTINELY defrosts meat out on the counter for 24h. Then cooks it in the am and leaves it on the counter again all day for dinner and eats it.

Even though food safety practices have changed, I’m not sure this was EVER recommended!! (But I’ll admit that I still automatically start to rinse poultry... I know that is now a big no-no but old habits die hard.)

Yeah, never recommended. I'm merely pointing out that she's still alive and relatively well. And yes, of course, she still rinses all poultry.

Ground meat out at a room temp for several hours is a definite toss.

I vote for toss. 8 hours on the counter is a long time.
