    Default Hide and go seek???

The idea of kids running through my house hiding in nooks and crannies drives me bonkers!! One of my DC’s friends absolutely loves playing hide and go seek and wants to play every time they come over. Then I have to tell them that’s an outside game here. Do kids play hide and go seek in your house? Up to what age? I worry something will get broken or someone will hide somewhere dangerous and get hurt.

I’m ok with it but I set rules on off limit places (like my room)

We do same... not in our room, attic or living room where most of the breakables are.

My kids love it (11 & 7) and have actually started playing it a lot lately with their friends. We just don't allow our bedroom and pretty much everything else is ok.

For nice weather days, I kick them outside to do that since we have a lot of nook and crannies!

But during cold/wet weather, I’m ok inside. Anywhere except the master bedroom and home office. They knocked off the router once too many times from roughhousing near it or hiding under the desk, accidentally inplugging the long plug set.

My kids loved to play that, even up to about age 12! I let them, just said not in my room. I got such a kick out of some of their creative hiding spots. We also live where there is winter so they can't always be outside.

They do still play ghosts in the graveyard in the summer in the neighborhood!

Every day. My only rule is not in my room.

My kids don't play much on their own but LOVE to play when friends are over. I'll admit I don't love it, but as long as they stay out of my room I deal with it. BUT - I feel your pain and totally support you kicking kids outside/making it off limits in your house. I feel like there's several other things that are definite no-nos are our house that most of my kids' friends are allowed to do in their own homes. Somedays it makes me feel totally like a grinch, but oh well.....my house, my rules.
