Favorite mask tutorial?

I’ve made a few of the Deaconess type, but I’m out of elastic. Tried one with tors this morning...and making those long ties was so time consuming. I’d like to use pipe cleaner for the nose piece...is there a favorite mask tutorial you’re using to make masks that includes the nose piece and ties? A filter pocket would be good too.

Hospitals and nursing homes around here are requesting ties instead of elastic - apparently they are more comfortable for all day wear, and easier to get a good fit too.

But I agree, the ties are a pain to make!

TBH, bias tape was my gut impulse from a sterilization standpoint.

My friend is making a ton of them. And she started using panty hose for the ties! She says it’s cheap, super stretchy and comfortable. She just cuts them into strips.

I just want to say as a nurse I’m not allowed to wear homemade masks, but we still have masks.

Having said that I have a friend making head coverings that I am using and finding useful. If anyone is interested in other projects. I’m not sure how much virus sticks to my hair, but it definitely cuts down on hair in my face and be unconsciously brushing it out if way.
