I also saw where someone used a Barrel of Monkeys monkey to hold elastic loops. Gonna try that today!

She describes how to draw a pattern from scratch, but I downloaded a printable pattern from Tianas Closet instead.

I find this style more comfortable than the rectangular style I made at first.

Thank you! I sewed one mask for myself but then started having trouble with my sewing machine, apparently breaking a needle has the alignment or something off and I need to take it to a shop to fix it So I cut out and started hand-sewing some of the first pattern type last night. It is not the best sew job but should work fine for the occasional use they might get. Got DD1's finished (adult female), and DD2's almost finished (kid size), and have one cut out for DH to sew today. He wants elastic straps across his head, so I'll have to play around with that.

Mine arrives on Saturday. Here's what the original poster had to say about them: "Allett masks just arrived. They are very comfortable and breathable, and they seal nicely against face, nose, and chin. The construction is two layers of fabric, with the inner layer spun-bonded." I think the company has been slammed with orders.
Just thought I would come back and update. I received my masks in the mail a couple days ago. Laundered and tried them on for the first time yesterday. I really like them. They are super soft and comfortable, and do fit nicely around my face. They also have a wire nose piece, so I can adjust the mask to fit properly on the bridge of my nose. I'm not sure about any fogging issues since I don't wear glasses (I know this was discussed in a different thread). Anyways, they're super comfortable and breathable, and I'm weirdly excited to wear them out of the house for the first time today.

I'm now thinking about ordering some in the kids' sizes for my boys. Hope this helps!

Hair binders are used for the elastic and there is a pocket for a filter.

Thank you for sharing this tutorial. Going to try making these without a machine, especially since I have a ton of hair bands and no elastic.

I used the pattern from here https://tianascloset.com/index.php/2...irus-epidemic/ and hand sewed like the first one she does here: https://youtu.be/VUasSmReIVo and used hair ties for ear straps on the girls'. I made a child size for 11 yr. old DD2, adult female size for 13 yr. old DD1, and adult male for DH. He wanted elastic string to go behind his head, so I tried that, we'll see how it holds up.

I haven't gone thru any of the previous posts yet, this link may have already been posted. I was given some masks for my family using this pattern:

    https://www.craftpassion.com/face-mask-sewing-pattern/

The masks we have are the pocket face masks. They fit really well and the nose wire helps prevent the fogging of DH's glasses.

This is a great mask pattern for a nice tight fit with good coverage. It is my favorite mask I have bought. Note that tight Woven Cotton (quilter’s cotton, tight woven muslin) and shop towels have been shown to provide better filtration/protection.
