Default ISO: Good treadmill at decent price

I think I'm ready to go ahead and get a treadmill. The pollen here is so bad and I am having a really bad season with my asthma which makes me extra nervous to push exercising in with the allergens. I just can't walk for exercise the way I want to. It's also already getting hotter here in SC! Last summer I used the treadmill ever day at the Y and it was SO good for my anxiety.

Looking for a decent treadmill at a decent price. Thanks!!!

I don’t have good advice, just wanted to commiserate. It’s perfect walking weather now and I NEED to get out of the house and walk but my allergies this year, will stop me. Some years I’ll tough it out and do a thorough nasal rinse and shower when I get home but not this year. I’m trying to keep my lungs as healthy as possible I case I catch a bad virus.

My guess is that this COVID19 economic downturn is going to close some gyms. They might be looking to sell
some equipment. If you know someone who owns a gym or works for one, maybe you could ask around.

Just be prepared that most home treadmills are so inferior to gym quality ones. Ones that are comparable are several thousand. Anything cheap is really going to feel different (bad) in my experience.

We have had a Sole treadmill for 10 years. I use it the most, but DH and DS1 also use it. We are probably replacing it soon, but it is still great. DS1 just asked for one with a 40% incline like the one at his personal trainer.

My husband really wanted one from Costco. I bumped it from the cheapest one to the next level up. It’s very nice. I have been very happy that we have had it these past few weeks. He averaged around 18,000 steps a day before we bought it (pre covid). Now that he’s inside and working from home he’s really used it a ton. No complaints!

Do you have any used equipment stores around you? We have a chain called that sells (nice) used stuff, and we bought a LifeFitness treadmill there about 9 years ago... it's been a great thing to have; we use it often and have had the kids use it, too, with our long winters when they need to get their energy out!

Which one did you get? I was looking at a Nordic track but it seems to be gone from their website.

We’ve had a Nordic Track treadmill for about four years. Used by me and both kids (teens). I think I paid right around $1000 on a Black Friday deal so surprised it has held up so well.

We have a Nordic track and the one before that was a Schwinn I think and both held up really well. Outside of day to day activity, I do get a whole lot more exercise when I have a treadmill at home. Ours was under $500 on a deal for the Nordic track, and I need very basic functions (speed, incline, place to put iPhone) and it works very well for all this. Also it seems very smooth to me although I wonder what it would be like for someone who is heavier

Wow I would love to find a NT for that price! Like you I really don’t need many features. My husband is 6’4” so as long as his height is accommodated it would work for us.
