Maybe it is due to the volume of testing that the county is doing?? I think we have over 65 testing sites and do 40,000 tests a week?? I will say the process to sign up to get tested and actually go for the test was super easy and despite a constant stream of cars, from the time I arrived to the line until I drove away was only around 10 minutes. So at least they have the testing part down. Now they just need to work on results in a timely fashion.

I'm not going to get into the herd immunity debate because I cannot even begin to pretend to be an infectious disease specialist. But this story popped up in my FB feed coincidentally.

I find it odd, maybe depends on the testing site. My friend got tested here in LA and had results 48 hours later.

At one point they were doing good with the results, but then they got back logged again about a week or two ago.

Also when you sign up to test you have to answer some basic questions about your symptoms or exposure. Then they assign you to a location. I wonder if certain locations are prioritized if they are dealing with people that currently have symptoms, vs those that have a known exposure but no symptoms??

Our state has had the same experience - result times decreased for awhile as more labs began running tests but are now increasing a bit as we are testing more. I'm sorry that you are going through all this - and hope that everything is negative.
