Thanks for sharing. I made a note to watch it.

I had a feeling the launch wouldn't happen today. I work nights, and finished up my week this morning. I made myself get up early so DS and I could watch. I remember in elementary, the entire school gathered in the library to watch the first space shuttle launch.
So glad I don't have to go back to work tonight!

I'm so sorry you woke up for nothing PharmJenn. I was surprised there was even a chance of launch b/c my mom had been telling me of horrible weather in S. Florida but yes I too remember the whole school gathering for launches. .... Till Challenger
Fingers crossed for Sat. .... Sun is the fall back day for that!

Bumping as DH just reminded me about this. It looks like there is a 50/50 chance of launch at 3:22 ET due to weather conditions today.
We enjoyed watching it!

DH and I really enjoyed watching it. The kids did too, but were much less impressed than I was watching shuttle launches as a kid!

We lost track of the time and missed it . Hopefully can find some online footage to stream to watch later tonight.

Awesome! I still get a thrill even though I grew up in the shuttle era.

and you can also go back and watch the launch as well.
Its super cool. Especially when they were talking about being able to reuse the spacecrafts to lower costs so that someday 'normal' people will be able to go into orbit and not just the men's billionaire club.
And when Leland Melvin started talking about exploration and colonizaton of mars ... and being able to take dogs because dogs are part of our culture and we want to spread our culture .....
