Default Mask Post 9987: Back To Work in an Office

I’ll be commuting via public transportation. I will need to wear a mask in the hallways (printer, bathroom), to grab lunch sometimes and commute home.

    Same cloth mask all day?

Yes, unless it gets wet (from sweat, rain, breathing...).

If you have them available, I would wear one in the morning, and then put on a new one after your lunch. That way, you won't have to hassle with storage while you eat.

I planned on 2 masks per day for the girls and I. Pretty sure I could deal with finding somewhere to put mine down making sure I wash my hands after touching the exterior etc but I dont trust the girls to and honestly makes life more complicated. Plus they get slightly damp and icky after wearing for a couple of hours - cant imagine trying to go all day plus a commute.

How do you feel about a face shield? I think the efficacy is similar

I'd definitely want two or more to switch throughout the day as they get damp from breathing. I especially wouldn't want to keep wearing the same cloth mask all day after a commute that could get a lot of virus particles on it.

You can wear one mask all day, put it to the side/in a paper bag when eating etc. It's not necessary to keep changing them.

Shoes come off before coming in the house.

Depending on how long your commute is and what the weather is like one is probably fine, but I would always keep an extra clean one (maybe in a plastic bag or similar to keep it clean?) in your bag and/or at your office.

I won’t be wearing one while sitting at my desk (i have an office).

It is interesting to think that the vast majority of my colleagues take public public transportation and will come to the office to wear that mask all day.

And your office is going to have everyone start coming in? I would keep a clean spare but would probably just try to use one a day.
