Both DD's play violin and DD2 also plays clarinet. They take lessons through school but apparently the method the schools use does not focus much on music theory (note reading, beats, key signatures, etc.). Our temporary virtual violin teacher for the summer (not affiliated with the school) has noticed that this is an area they would benefit from extra practice with. He is doing an extra class with several students but I sat in and listened to the class this week and agree with the girls it is not very helpful (part of it is the group setting and tech problems with Zoom and part of it is his teaching style). I figured there has to be a website or app that is useful but still fun that they could practice with instead. They both have our old Iphone SEs or access to a chromebook. When I searched the Apple app store there are a lot of options, does anyone have one they recommend? They are pretty good with recognizing notes but could use help with recognizing sharps/flats and counting out beat patterns.
