Default What are your most useful household fans?

We have a small metal fan, similar to this, and DH uses it around the house as needed. https://www.lowes.com/pd/KOOL-FLO-12...Fan/1000801918

I'm hosting kids from another family on our deck for school, and although we get sprayed for mosquitos, other bugs are landing on us. DH's small fan does the trick, but I'm wondering if we need to get another one just like it (because it's easy to store, isn't an eyesore, provides just enough wind for him and for us outside.)

We need to add another fan to use either outside on the deck or in the bedroom where he's working. We do have a large playroom with a vaulted ceiling (2 car garage sized room) and i have a treadmill in there...thinking that at some point, it may be nice to have a fan blowing toward the treadmill, but I would love to have some recommendations of your favorite type of fan to have around. Box fan? taller oscillating (seems hard to store) or something else? I did ask DH if we could put a ceiling fan in the bedroom he's using, and he said no. He likes the directional wind created.

The main use for this would be a gentle breeze for pushing bugs away on the deck or occasionally moving air in the playroom.

We have had this Vornado fan for the last 10 years and love it. Dd1 is actually using the fan as the main fan in her room as her ceiling fan isn’t nearly as good (we are replacing the ceiling fan though).

Not this exact model, but we have had a couple of this style fan and were very happy with them! I think we got rid of them when we installed central A/C, but used them a lot for many years.

We have a few of these that we only used for kids to take to camp until this summer. They have worked so well on our porch and patio so we can hang out with friends safely and have more airflow. Small and compact but efficient. And the price is right!

My grandparents who lived in Pasadena for almost 50 years without AC swore by that fan. It was how I first found out about Vornado.
