After a year and three months of looking (and many interviews that led to "one of the last two" situations), DH started a new job yesterday. The title and pay are lower than his previous, but the potential opportunities are really good. And he was doing consulting work pretty much the whole time he was "unemployed," so financially we've done pretty well. That means we won't have to move back to our old house, which makes the kids and me very happy.
Now we need some BBB mojo for his Navy role. I can't be specific because he operates in small worlds on both the civilian and the Navy side, but he's hoping for a particular position and should hear by October.
