    Thank you.

I have never been so angry with DD as I was yesterday, not even the time when she bit the substitute teacher who was trying to bring her inside from recess in Kindergarten.

Today seems to be going better, but she's still finding excuses to do anything but Math class ... and Math is her 2nd-best subject.

DD waffles between absolutely loving it and screaming about how much she hates it because "it's so confusing!" but she'll spend the first 10 minutes of class getting up to fix a snack (after a 20-minute break!) or use the restroom or color pictures instead of focusing on the steps to do the newest skill.

I have been learning how to teach 5th grade math for days when DD can't pay attention, no matter what strategies we try. I taught her how I learned to do word problems to get her to slow down because otherwise she races through assignments just to be finished.

Oh man, lizzywednesday, I’m so sorry. I KNOW those tantrums. They require all your attention because they just don’t simmer down quickly. I’m sending you virtual red wine and your favorite ice cream. And hope that tomorrow will be uneventful.

My DS has been in- person for much of this pandemic hope very similar issues. Now he is autistic and has ODD/ADHD as well as other Written LD, but it was just too much and it was negatively impacting our relationship.

Oh NO! I think that going back sounds like it will be good for her. If nothing else, it will help the school staff to recognize how much she is struggling and maybe present her with more help. I can't imagine how nice it will feel to have some distance for you too.
