Default ISO recommendations for a *propane* fire pit

As the days grow shorter, we are already dreading the cold, dark, isolating months ahead. I would love to be proactive and get a propane fire pit for our deck, thinking we could socialize outdoors well into the fall. Propane would allow us to be closer to the house, but without endangering the home. ;-)

Do you have one that you love? Has anyone seen any great deals this season?

We bought this fire pit in early April and loved using in cool, Spring nights. It throws off some decent warmth but also add a throw blanket when it is very chilly. https://www.wayfair.com/outdoor/pdx/...e-snb1547.html

We have the same one! It’s great as a coffee table and then use as fire table. We got it on amazon

We bought this https://www.costco.com/faux-concrete...100538816.html this summer and it’s been great. That’s a bad picture they have up, it looks a lot better in person! I think it was $100 less in the warehouse. It. Ones with black lava rocks and glass but we swapped those out for blue/green sea glass from amazon.

If you'd like to burn wood without the risk or mess, we just got a Solo stove and they are awesome (and currently on sale). Totally safe for the deck (just get the stand), the wood burns super hot so you just have fine ash to deal with, very low profile so you can tuck it away when you aren't using it. We got the Bonfire size so that we can use it at home and take it with us on the road for dispersed camping where it's safe to have a fire but there is no fire ring.

We also have a fire pit with a natural gas line on our back patio, but we wanted something for the deck and honestly this kicks out WAAAAY more heat than the gas fire, so I think when it starts to really get cold this will extend our outside season way more. A bunch of our neighbors have gotten these in anticipation of needing to socialize outside this fall/winter.

We really wanted this. We waited too long and then we’re gifted a wood burning fire pit so we didn’t end up getting it. It looks nice in person! I still would prefer gas but can’t argue with free!

We have a 'more square' version of the Wayfair one above, and LOVE it. We also have a much smaller one from Target. Had the smaller one first and loved it, but it uses the small green containers of propane that burn out quickly. The larger one uses a big tank, which lasts much longer even in a bigger fire pit.

    Good luck!

Trying to talk DH into one of these. He wants a wood burning fire pit but I want a gas one so that I don’t smell like campfire, quicker to start, etc. Do the Solo ones leave that string campfire smell?

We bought one in May and just love it. I was debating between gas and the Solo but in the end didn't want to deal with wood. I have no regrets! It's easy to light, was easy to put together and the kids love it too. Throws off a good bit of heat if you put it on high. The kids love to roast marshmallows and have s'mores!

I love that I can use it as a table too. This summer I threw a tablecloth over it several times for entertaining. Very versatile!
